Ryutaro Fukami (Manga)

Biography

In the manga, Ryutaro Fukami is a former Dark Nebula recruit who befriends Ginga Hagane after losing to him in the Battle Bladers arc, earning a place among Ginga's circle of real bladers. He competes in the Big Bang Bladers Japan selection, gets caught up in Hades Inc.'s life-force-draining scheme during the American finals, and briefly dies of cardiac arrest before being revived when Ginga frees the life force stolen by Damian Hart's Kerbecs.

Slim built, with trademark buck teeth, large eyes and long hair reaching just above his neck, Ryutaro wears the top half of a robe with baggy arms and typically carries a traditional fan, a belt holding up skirt-like shorts that sit around his knee pads, plus a pair of boots.

Ryutaro starts out a troubled boy who struggles to fit in, and that struggle drives him to prove himself by joining the Dark Nebula. His genuine passion for Beyblade is something Ginga recognises and uses to draw him toward becoming a better person, and he ends up belonging among a group of real Bladers alongside Ginga and Sora, settling into life as a fun-loving Blader himself.

• Lured to America under false WBBA pretenses by Hades Inc., which drains his life force via Damian Hart's Kerbecs.
• Dies of cardiac arrest after giving his remaining life force to Ginga, then is revived once Ginga frees the absorbed energy.
• Uses the Stamina-type Pisces D125BS and its Distortion Drive special move throughout.
