Beyblade

Biography

Ren Kurenai is the only female Blader in Beyblade: Shogun Steel, fighting with Thief Phoenix E230GCF and a battle technique she openly copies from series lead Zyro Kurogane. Confident and eager for every fight, she debuts by defeating three Bladers on the Cyclone Beystadium platform before losing to Zyro himself, then joins his group in Metal Bey City. Benkei later warns her that her overreliance on Thief Phoenix's flashy physical tricks won't hold up outside the Cyclone Beystadium, a lesson she painfully confirms when Takanosuke Shishiya's Archer Griffin shuts her down.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Ren has light skin, amber eyes and spiky blonde hair tied back into a ponytail. Her regular outfit is a black leather jacket trimmed in pink over a lime-green tank top, burgundy shorts held up with a black belt, and thigh-high socks split vertically into pink and lavender halves with black trim at the top, finished with black boots, black fingerless gloves and two belts carrying her Blader Gear. In one Shogun Steel episode she instead wears a pink sleeveless collared shirt with a Bull Burger apron and baseball cap, and in another she appears in a maroon one-piece swimsuit with a front zipper.

Ren shares Zyro's outspoken confidence in her own ability, throwing herself into every Beybattle with enthusiasm and refusing to back down once she's committed to a fight, backed by an unshakeable fighting spirit. In battle she stays relaxed rather than rattled, and she pays close attention to technique, even pausing in her debut match to work out how to use one of Zyro's moves.
