Masamune Kadoya is Gingka Hagane's third great rival and deuteragonist of Beyblade: Metal Masters, a loud, arrogant Blader who insists he's the world's number one despite repeated losses. After training in America with best friends Toby and Zeo Abyss at the Dungeon Gym, he returns to Japan chasing Gingka, eventually earning a spot on Team GanGan Galaxy and helping win the World Championships. In Metal Fury he upgrades to Blitz Striker while chasing Legendary Blader status, forming a fierce new rivalry with King before settling permanently into Team Dungeon alongside Toby and Zeo.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Masamune's hair is black shot through with white highlights, with one dyed red strand hanging between his eyebrows; he has brown eyes and a light complexion. His sweatshirt is green, trimmed in pale sky blue with dark blue edging on the pockets and along the sleeves, worn over an orange shirt whose two tails poke out from underneath. His khaki shorts run navy lightning-bolt lines down the seams, echoing Ray Striker's Special Move, Lightning Sword Flash, and he wears brown fingerless gloves. Green shoes with yellow trim and white socks complete the outfit.

Masamune is loud, impulsive and endlessly sure of his own talent, declaring himself the world's best blader despite plenty of losses that say otherwise. His mouth causes as much trouble as his arrogance — Tsubasa once summed it up as Masamune simply having no manners. Losing to Nile eventually knocks some of that ego down, though his stubbornness never really fades; he keeps chasing rematches with Gingka long after repeated defeats. He turns melodramatic when worked up, flailing his arms or toppling out of chairs, and in many ways plays out as a mirror of Gingka himself. He never stops working toward beating Gingka, and even once Gingka improves, he still rates himself the better of the two.

Relentless lightning-fast offense and refusal to stay beaten win him a world title with GanGan Galaxy, though Nile, Klaus, Zeo, King and Chris all expose his recklessness.
