Biography

Johannes is a major antagonist in Beyblade: Metal Fury, a sly, cat-obsessed seeker of Nemesis who hunts Legendary Bladers to harvest their Star Fragments. Using his Beat Lynx TH170WD's hidden track-height-changing trick, he wins through trickery rather than raw skill, tricking Gingka Hagane before Kyoya Tategami intervenes, and later scouting China's Beylin Temple, the ToRyumon tag tournament, and Beystar Island in his search. He eventually helps recruit Chris to the Nemesis cause and serves alongside fellow Nemesis Bladers Keyser, Cycnus, and Herschel, but is ultimately defeated when Aguma's Great Ring of Destruction routs the group atop WBBA Headquarters, after which he vanishes from the story entirely.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Tall and skinny, Johannes has dark skin and wide yellow eyes set with feline pupils. A large white cap patterned with a yellow, cross-like symbol covers most of his dark, spiky hair as well as his right eye. He wears a silver chain-like necklace, a white cloak carrying the same yellow symbols as his cap, brown fingerless gloves, black trousers and brown boots.

Johannes carries himself as devious and feline in temperament, sneaky and underhanded in how he operates. He's fixated on cats in much the way Tetsuya Watarigani is fixated on crabs, an obsession he shares with Motty. Beneath an outwardly carefree, bubbly manner lies something genuinely evil: he's working toward waking the ultimate darkness, Nemesis.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • Likely named after astronomer Johannes Hevelius, who introduced the constellation Lynx that his Beyblade is based on.
  • Shares strong parallels with Tetsuya Watarigani: both mimic an obsessed-over animal, lead a cult-like antagonist group, and use height-changing Beyblades.
  • Uses a Karabiner Grip, one of only a few characters in the franchise to do so.
