Biography

Joe Lazure, known as Joe Rurikawa in Japan, is a jester-costumed member of Inferno in Beyblade Burst Rise who decides his battle strategies - and even whether to bother watching a match - by flipping a coin. Beneath his reckless, gambling-themed persona lies a sharp, analytical blader who studies opponents closely, as shown when he defeats Arman Kusaba after careful observation. He loses a tight series to Dante Koryu after underestimating him and is later beaten by Gwyn Reynolds, but remains a good sport in defeat, even gifting one of his lucky coins to a rival he respects.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Tall and thin, Joe has pale skin, red eyes and light blue hair and eyebrows, plus a purple scar painted across his left eye. He dresses like a jester, in a motley coat and breeches with the boots sewn directly in, done in purple and cerulean blue. Underneath sits a white sweater with a prominent white collar and cyan cuffs, and the look is finished with purple cufflinks, a red belt with a silver buckle and a black beret.

In battle, Joe leans reckless and unpredictable, switching his bey from a stamina approach to an attack one mid-fight. Outside of battle he turns quiet and analytical, a habit that let him work out how to beat Arman. Before watching a match he'll flip a coin to call the winner, though the coin doesn't always get it right — his prediction that Valt Aoi would lose to Dante Koryu, for instance, turned out wrong. When that happens he takes it well, congratulating Dante on the win and even handing over one of his coins.
