Biography

Gwyn Reynolds, called Gwyn Ronny in Japan, is the enigmatic main antagonist of Beyblade Burst Rise, a reclusive mathematical genius who builds his own Beyblade, Genesis, purely by applying formulas rather than passion. Cold and dismissive of friendship, he becomes fixated on breaking Dante Koryu's bond with his Command Dragon after witnessing Arthur Peregrine's Bey-breaking rampage, convinced math can conquer any variable. After repeated clashes with Dante that defy his predictions, his climactic loss finally teaches him the meaning of Bey Spirit and friendship, ending his rivalry with Dante on good terms.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Gwyn stands at an average height, with pale skin, fuchsia eyes, and white hair worn in a side braid. His everyday outfit is a white jumpsuit finished with a turquoise fur collar, over which he drapes a sea-green jacket across his shoulders rather than wearing it properly; a black tie, white boots, and a gold-yellow belt complete the look. When he enters his awakened state, his eyes begin to glow and his braid comes undone, letting his hair fall long and wavy.

Gwyn comes across as enigmatic and formidably intelligent, working out new Beyblade parts and battle strategies through arithmetic rather than instinct, and he adapted well enough to win his very first battle with no prior experience. He is introverted and soft-spoken, happiest alone in his own lab and quick to tune out anyone he finds distracting from his work. Beneath the reserve sits real vanity: he can be smug toward rivals and boasted that he could beat two opponents by himself. He treats emotion and friendship as irrelevant, trusting that mathematics can answer any problem and growing frustrated when it fails to, and he shows little grasp of ordinary life outside his studies. Only after his final battle does he come to understand what friendship actually means to Beyblade.
