Biography

Arthur Peregrine, known as Arthur Percival in Japan, is a self-proclaimed 'King of Beyblade' antagonist in Beyblade Burst Rise who interrupts the World Championship match to challenge and defeat Aiger Akabane using his burst-proof Prime Apocalypse. Authoritarian and unwilling to accept defeat, he forms the rival organization Inferno by poaching Fumiya Kindo's entire Spark Wings team, only to be repeatedly beaten by Dante Koryu, Delta Zakuro, and Gwyn Reynolds, eventually losing his hold on power as his recruited team returns home. He falls to his knees in defeat once his goal of overthrowing the WBBA collapses.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Built and tall, with tan skin and turquoise eyes, Arthur Peregrine wears his medium-length hair in prussian blue over one side and green with green-tipped highlights on the other, with red and yellow paint marks across his face. His bodysuit is black-olive patterned with wavy blue and yellow lines, worn with white wrist and neck wraps and a scatter of reddish feathers at the right collar. A cerulean kilt bordered in dark red and cyan dots sits over a white belt, and his dark-indigo boots carry lavender cuffs and dark-green detailing. Altogether the palette echoes a blue-and-yellow macaw.

Arthur positions himself against the established Beyblade authorities, working to tear down the WBBA and pull bladers into his own organisation, Inferno, in a bid to rule the sport outright. He shows little regard for rules or etiquette, more than once storming into a stadium mid-battle just to display his strength. That same arrogance leads him to declare himself the Beyblade King without hesitation, and losing does nothing to humble him — after a defeat to Dante Koryu and Delta Zakuro he demanded a spiteful rematch and blamed his ally Gwyn for it, despite having leaned on him throughout the fight. He runs his own team the same way, insisting the weak have no place in Beyblade and showing no patience for failure. Only his final defeat cracks the bravado, leaving him kneeling in disappointment at having failed to seize the WBBA.

A burst-proof Apocalypse and Dark Turbo let him flatten the reigning champion, but once rivals adapt he loses three straight series and his pride collapses.

  • Blood type O.
  • His initials match his Bey's name, Prime Apocalypse, a trait shared with Pheng Hope and Blindt DeVoy.
  • His launching pose in Episodes 14 and 21 echoes Aiger's post-Turbo Achilles launch style.
