A second Selection Tournament clash sees Yu switch to his special move, Sonic Wave, reading Striker's movements closely enough to trap it in sand kicked up by Libra's attacks. As Yu moves to close things out with Inferno Blast, Gingka's encouragement snaps Masamune back into the fight, and he channels Libra's own force into a one-point breakthrough. The resulting Lightning Sword Flash pierces Inferno Blast outright, defeating Libra and earning Masamune the first spot on Japan's Representative Team.
