Not long after Gingka Hagane recovers Galaxy Pegasus, a boy claiming to be the world's number-one blader, Masamune Kadoya, challenges him to test the new top's power. An early exchange spirals out of Gingka's control and whips up a tornado that engulfs the whole stadium, and Gingka wins the follow-up bout by launching Striker clean out of the ring. Masamune keeps returning for rematches, gradually learning to dodge Pegasus's raw power instead of meeting it head-on. In their final encounter he reads Gingka's inability to control that power and slams Pegasus into a pile of dirt for the win, leaving Gingka to realize he needs to truly bond with his Beyblade rather than just wield its strength.
