Collector's Note
Engine Gear-system casings with slots for two bearings (ships with two metal bearings); like regular SG casings it can be disassembled and its shaft or the casings themselves reused elsewhere. Collectors say it's rarely used competitively since Engine Gear bases generally have poor LAD, and being right-spin limits its Zombie potential. With its own matching Right Customize Gear (Free Shaft Version) Shaft, the two bearings give good stability; because most EG-compatible bases have weak LAD (First Clutch Base (Driger G Version) is a partial exception), Normal Base (Wolborg 4 Version) and Normal Base (Rock Bison Version) are preferred since they allow Wide Survivor for LAD instead — overall performance then hinges on the chosen CEW and weight disk's own precession/LAD. CEW Light Sharp with Wide Survivor gives excellent LAD/precession, enabling a genuinely competitive (if right-spin-only) Zombie build with either Normal Base option — called by far the best use of this part. CEW Metal Sharp and CEW Metal Grip both offer some post-balance-loss survival but are outclassed by CEW Light Sharp and by non-EG alternatives; Metal Sharp CEW pairs best with First Clutch Base (Metal Driger Version) (with Normal Base (Wolborg 4 Version), Normal Base (Rock Bison Version), First Clutch Base (Driger G Version), and Final Clutch Base (Draciel G Version) as the only other worthwhile bases), though Metal Sharp's own tip is fairly unstable, which Circle Survivor Defense can exploit. Metal Grip CEW is taller, adds real defense and stability, and its bevelled rubber edge helps precession/LAD, generally directly outclassed however by SG (Bearing Version 2) Shaft. With other shafts, options are limited since Engine Gear bases are weak and the casings are right-spin only; SG (Full Auto Clutch Version) Shaft can be wedged in place for a very aggressive metal-flat-tipped attack base (viable Tier 2, though outclassed by SG Metal Flat Base (Gaia Dragoon V Version)'s tighter flower pattern), and SG (Bearing Version 2) Shaft can rub against the casings to act as a rubber attack tip with short bursts of extreme speed, though inconsistency again keeps it at Tier 2. Overall: competitive but niche, mainly via CEW Light Sharp. Used on Zeus (Takara only).
