About This Part
Bunshin Core is an 8-gram Running Core for the Hard Metal System that shipped with Phantom Fox MS, built from two halves that spin independently once a hit separates them. The upper half is a plastic piece carrying a spring-loaded semi-flat tip and cannot take a Weight Disk, while the lower half acts as the Running Core at the start of a battle, holds the Weight Disk, and takes interchangeable tips fitted the same way as Bit Protectors; a semi-flat tip ships by default, with flat and sharp options available through Fukobako 2005.
In Play
Splitting the Attack Ring and Weight Disk between two pieces effectively halves the weight each carries, making Bunshin Core easy to knock out and leaving it with little real use in competitive battling; under BBA and WBO rulings, either half staying in play and spinning is enough to avoid a loss, which gives a Bunshin Core Beyblade two lives in effect, and the one build that has seen tournament use — Circle Upper or Metal Ape paired with Circle Balance — relies on the lower half's near-perfect circle and strong Outward Weight Distribution, though it still loses to heavier Survival parts like Jiraiya Blade or Bearing Core.
- Debuted with the release of Phantom Fox MS.
- Circle Balance fits the edges of Bunshin Core precisely, while Circle Wide sits loosely and can add instability on impact.
- Bunshin Core's split-body function is echoed later by the Drone in Striker Drone from the Metal Fight line and the Bullet Driver from the Burst line.
