About This Part
Made by Takara for the Hard Metal System's Gimmick Specialty Series, Battle Change Core debuted in Japan on October 23rd, 2004 inside the MA-20 Booster, Samurai Changer MS. An internal switch mechanism swaps it between a flat-tip Attack Mode and a sharp-tip Survival Mode whenever either half of the Core takes a hit, rather than through the usual drop in spin speed, and it can flip back and forth any number of times within one battle. Its accompanying CWD part stands tall enough to work as an Upper Attack piece in right-spin or a blunt Smash Attack piece in left-spin, though it mainly exists to trigger the Core's mode change.
In Play
The mode swap sounds versatile on paper, but competitive players find it mediocre in either mode and impossible to predict mid-battle, and for Defense builds it loses out to Jiraiya MS's Bearing Core 2 on grip and Stamina and to Round Shell MS's Rubber Weight Core on raw weight and shock absorption.
- Debuted in Japan on October 23rd, 2004 with the MA-20 Booster, Samurai Changer MS.
- Battle Change Core works much like Trick from the Burst line, switching modes on impact rather than by a drop in centrifugal force.
