About This Part
The Turbo Left EG follows on from the standard Left Engine Gear, delivering a burst of speed roughly four times stronger over a shorter window. It debuted with the release of Dragoon GT and weighs 7 grams, and like most Engine Gears it is held back by a tall profile and Blade Bases that aren't very practical.
In Play
Its burst of speed suits One-Hit Knockout builds, most notably paired with the Spike Dragon Attack Ring, 10 Heavy Weight Disk, First Clutch Base and a Metal Semi Flat tip; such setups trade high recoil for high power and see little use outside casual OHKO play.
- Debuted with Dragoon GT
Collector's Note
A CEW-compatible left-spin Engine Gear with a 'Turbo' activation that hits much harder but burns out faster than a standard Engine Gear. Called the only reasonably capable Attack implementation of the Engine Gear system — with a suitable CEW (i.e. Metal Grip) it sends the blade rocketing at high speed briefly — but the tall stature of Engine Gear setups plus the lack of an effective overhanging left-spin attack ring means it usually can't connect with opponents; collectors say it might be Tier 2 or better otherwise, but as-is largely needs help from something like First Clutch Base (Dragoon G Version) just to make contact. Also not a good match for Final Clutch bases (its burst window is too short for their late-game payoff), and again suffers from the general left-spin lack of overhanging rings/Final Clutch synergy. It's really only effective with the Metal Grip CEW, since metal tips lack the traction to do much with a sudden burst of spin. Used on Dragoon GT and Trygle 2 G.
