About This Part

Upper Claw is an Attack Ring for the Magnacore System that debuted with Driger V2 in 2003, weighing 7 grams. Two tiger-head shapes lead into long slopes that run down to weight-disk height, the classic shape for Upper Attack, though the heads themselves are large enough to get in the way and blunt some of that lifting power. In left spin the same heads produce a little Smash Attack, and where the slope angle changes twice it adds a touch of Upward Smash, but on its own the part is outperformed by other Upper Attack rings.

In Play

On its own, competitive players rank it below other Upper Attack rings, but paired with its matching Upper Attack Support Part it becomes far more effective — the gap where the two parts meet, plus the angle changes along the slope, deliver the extra impact needed to knock a lifted opponent out; it also only works in right spin.
