About This Part
Tiger Defenser is one of the most widely used Attack Rings in the original toy line, released as part of the Spin Gear System alongside Driger S. Its round shape keeps contact points to a minimum, which limits recoil and supports strong Stamina, while its compact size raises spin speed and, with it, defensive resilience; a set of rounded spikes and small upper-attack ramps also give it a bit of offensive bite. Hasbro later fitted a recoloured Tiger Defenser onto Jumping Base, a full Beyblade release, after selling the base itself as a standalone part under the Takara line.
In Play
Competitive players build strong survival and zombie-style combinations around it, since its small projections can sap an opponent's spin while its round shape shrugs off recoil (though Galeon's War Lion is regarded as a stronger left-spin survival pick), and its compact size and speed also make it one of the most popular choices for compact combinations, including setups barely different from an unmodified Driger S.
- Released with Driger S as part of the Spin Gear System.
- Hasbro reused a recoloured version of the ring on its Jumping Base release, sold as a complete Beyblade rather than a standalone part.
- Hasbro's Jumping Base release is a full Beyblade carrying a recoloured Tiger Defenser, unlike Takara's standalone version of the base.
