About This Part
Panther Head is an Attack Ring from the Magnacore System that debuted with the release of Flash Leopard 2 in March 2002, taking its name from the three panther-head shapes that make up its body. In right-spin its projections give some Smash Attack, but that comes with fair recoil and is not considered strong in tournament play, while in left-spin those same three attack points, thickened for extra weight, deliver powerful Smash Attack without excessive recoil. Slight slopes on the attack points also destabilize opponents somewhat, even though they aren't shaped for Upper Attack.
In Play
The community favours pairing Panther Head with a Ten Wide weight disk over a Wide Defense or Wide Survivor disk, since its attack points only reach so far, and considers it a strong candidate for a left-spin Smash Attack customization despite that limited range.
