In Play

Once the ban on Hidden Spirit Parts lifted for tournament play, testing showed Cross Griffon's right-spin Smash Attack rivals the well-known Triple Wing from Trygle: its sharp, well-spaced wing tips give excellent range and hitting power, and even without slopes to destabilise a target it can stop an opponent's spin outright. It carries slightly more recoil than Triple Wing but a standard Smash Attack build controls that easily (Wide Defense with a Magnecore, or Wide Defense with a Heavy Metal Core), and its thicker frame makes it more durable and cheaper to run than Triple Wing, though its sharp tips can mark stadium walls. A build pairing it with Wide Defense, a Neo Right Spin Gear and an SG Metal Flat Base can win by either knockout or outspin. Hasbro's version moves the figurine mounts to the top of the ring rather than the base, which adds recoil, so the Takara Tomy version is preferred.
