About This Part
Circle Upper is an Attack Ring from the Hard Metal System and the Gimmick Specialty Series, released by Takara with the MA-04 Booster Death Gargoyle MS in January 2004. Its Metal Frame forms an almost perfect circle with two deep slopes on either side, built for Upper Attack, and a later, reinforced mould shares its Metal Frame with Samurai Changer MS.
In Play
Circle Upper is treated as one of the strongest Attack Rings ever released: its round shape gives opponents few points to latch onto in a clash, it has one of the widest attack ranges of any Hard Metal System Attack Ring, and it suits low Rubber Cores well because its weight sits entirely along the outer rim, which otherwise makes taller cores wobble. The original mould is lighter with better survival, while the reinforced second mould is heavier and hits harder; both saw heavy competitive use, including a wobbling strategy that turns the part's own imbalance into extra Smash Attack.
- Debuted with MA-04 Booster Death Gargoyle MS in January 2004
- A reinforced second mould, heavier and thicker along the Upper Attack slope, was introduced with HMS Random Booster ACT 3 and also released by Hasbro
