Description

Helios pilots this movie-tie-in top on screen and in a special manga chapter pairing him against Ryuga. Takara Tomy released Sol Blaze in Japan on August 21, 2010, giving bladers a way to claim one by pre-ordering tickets to the accompanying film at Lawson convenience stores, and regional partners Mani Limited and Funbox Toys later carried it into Hong Kong and Taiwan. Built from the Blaze Face Bolt and Energy Ring, the Sol Fusion Wheel, the Variable 145 Spin Track and an Around Sharp Performance Tip, it carries a Balance Type designation despite CoroCoro Comic marketing having branded it an "Ultimate Type" with borrowed attack, defence and stamina claims from unrelated tops.

In play and in the story

None of its parts ever proved competitively viable; the community generally treats the movie promotion's power claims as marketing exaggeration rather than a real reflection of its abilities.

  • Released in Japan on August 21, 2010 via a movie-ticket pre-order at Lawson stores.
  • A black Eclipse Ver. with orange highlights followed, limited to 3,000 pieces through an Ito En bar-code mail-in.
  • A Gold Ver. began as a 100-piece lottery prize before Mani Limited and Funbox Toys issued it more widely.

Community testing, Jun. 14, 2012 — summarised

The competitive view

Sol Blaze V145AS's Blaze clear wheel, Sol metal wheel (with two documented molds differing by about 2.5 grams), Variable 145 track, and Around Sharp bottom are rated largely non-competitive, recommending the Beyblade for collection purposes only. A weight-distribution claim was corrected, and independent Zero-G stadium tests confirm Around Sharp resists Zero-G Attack about as well as the MB bottom.

  • Clear Wheel Blaze: 2.8 g
  • Metal Wheel Sol: 31.9 g (first mold); roughly 34.4 g (second mold, +6 reinforced points)
  • Track Variable 145 (V145): 3.4 g
  • Bottom Around Sharp (AS): 0.8 g
