Description

Takara released Shadow Driger, also called Death Driger, as one of the first five Spin Gear System tops, and Hasbro later brought it into the G-Revolution toyline. Its avatar is a shadow-toned version of Driger, and the Japanese release carried a code for unlocking that bit in Beyblade Fighting Tournament. The build pairs the Star Shape attack ring, the Eight Balance weight disk, a Right Spin Gear and the SG Sharp Base blade base.

Parts in detail

Collectors record only the Hasbro rename (Shadow Driger); no additional release numbering or variant history is documented for this entry.

SlotPartWeightSpinNote
Attack Ring Star Shape 2.2 g Both (poor in both) One of the smallest Attack Rings of the generation, and, tied with Tri Cutter, one of the two lightest. Despite staying well clear of even Wide Defense's edge, its shape is recoil-heavy enough that it eventually makes contact and performs poorly for Survival, Spin-Stealing, Compacts, and Defense; its small size and weak contact points also make it a poor attacker.
Weight Disk Eight Balance 14.1 g A middling-weight, unremarkable-distribution Weight Disk that's outclassed by nearly every common competitive option, Ten Balance especially; heavier plated copies can occasionally match it, but that's a niche, impractical workaround.
Spin Gear Right Spin Gear Shells + Regular SG Core Part 1.1 ea shells (+1.12 optional Metal Weight Gear); 0.61 core g Right Standard Right-Spin System shells, incompatible with Neo cores (and so with certain MagneSystem Bases) unless paired with Wyborg's SG (Auto Change Version) core; Neo shells are usually preferred for their broader compatibility, especially for reaching the Heavy Metal Core in Right Spin. The lightweight core part — officially just called 'Gear,' renamed here to avoid confusion with the shells' own Metal Weight Gear — holds the assembly together and is barely heavier than Wyborg's Auto Change core.
Blade Base SG Sharp Base 6.6 g The Spin-Gear-compatible version of Sharp Base: tall with a sharp tip, made in two molds (a later one adds reinforced tip-retention and rim details) but with very poor stability that hurts longevity against nearly any opponent.

Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.

In play and in the story

The community rates Star Shape as one of the smallest attack rings ever made, useful only in a narrow weight-disk attack setup, while SG Sharp Base holds spin well on its narrow tip but offers no attack and topples easily, so it sees little defensive use in tournaments despite that stamina.
