Beyblade: Metal Masters (toyline)

This toyline wave reworked Beyblade packaging around tattooed face bolts that resist peeling, most visibly on Galaxy Pegasus W105R2F, Counter Leone 145D and Flame Byxis 230WD. A new class of heavier, more aggressive XTS tops, including Tornado-track variants and the protrusion-armed Stealth Battlers, drew tournament bans for their extra power, while accessories pushed further into gadgetry: a Rip Gauge Launcher that measures launch speed, an infrared remote-control launcher with a 15-to-20-second control window, and a Duotron Launcher that fires two tops at once, though its five internal gears leave it prone to skipping.

What to know

  • Tattooed face bolts replaced stickers, most visible on Galaxy Pegasus W105R2F, Counter Leone 145D and Flame Byxis 230WD
  • XTS Beyblades, including Tornado and Stealth Battler variants, are barred from most tournaments for being heavier and more aggressive
  • The Triple Battle Set pairs Galaxy Pegasus W105R2F and Meteo L-Drago LW105LF with three interchangeable cores: zip, chaos and deflector
  • The Duotron Launcher fires two Beyblades at once but its five gears cause it to skip rotations
