Spin Absorption

When two Beyblades spin in opposite directions, one can pull spin energy from the other, slowing its own spin loss and stretching the match out. Rounder profiles and rubber contact points strengthen the effect, and the side with better Life-After-Death — how long a top keeps rolling once it's essentially spent — tends to win the resulting war of attrition.

What to know

  • Occurs only between opposite-spin Beyblades
  • Rounder shapes and rubber contact points strengthen the effect
  • Named gimmick of the L-Drago line in the Metal Series and the Fafnir line in Burst
  • Outcome usually favours whichever side has stronger Life-After-Death

  • Fans called these builds "Zombie" combinations during the Original Series, with "Spin Steal" and "Spin Equalizers" surfacing later as names for the same idea.
  • Despite the anime framing it as a left-spin-only gimmick, testing shows it happens between any two opposite-spinning Beyblades, rubber or not.
