4D System

Takara Tomy built this construction method as the third wave of the Metal Saga toy line, following the Hybrid Wheel System and later handing off to the Synchrome System. Its defining trick is a Fusion Wheel that splits into separate pieces a blader can rearrange into different configurations, letting one part behave in more than one way mid-battle. Hasbro sold these tops in North America under its Metal Fury toyline, branding them Hyperblades rather than keeping the Japanese name. The design followed four guiding principles Takara Tomy set internally, covering material choice, wheel division, drive dynamics and depth of customization.
