Biography
Phoenix is the towering, masked alter ego of Ryo Hagane, Gingka's father, who secretly watches over Gingka's friend group while hiding his identity behind a phoenix-styled mask and wig. He crushes Gingka's Beypointer in their first clash, saves Tsubasa Otori from Ryuga and mentors him briefly, then is finally revealed as Gingka's father when a shard of his mask chips off while rescuing Hyoma and Kenta. He resurfaces once more in Metal Masters to interrupt a Wang Hu Zhong tryout battle.

What They Look Like
Phoenix wears a red coat that falls to his knees, along with a metal mask and wig shaped to suggest a phoenix, worn at all times to keep his identity hidden. Underneath he has on a black-and-brown shirt and long trousers, with Burn Fireblaze kept on his belt, and he finishes the look with black boots marked with red designs. He stands out physically too, towering over every other character in the show, adults included — even Benkei Hanawa looks short beside him.
