Biography

Mei-Mei trains at the Beylin Temple in China and represents Wang Hu Zhong at the World Championships, though she often ends up as a substitute after losing her starting spot to Chaoxin. Somewhat scatterbrained and prone to misspeaking, she is nonetheless quick to stand up for others, once confronting thieves who stole children's Beyblades. She tag-battles alongside Chiyun and Chaoxin through both Metal Masters and Metal Fury before making a brief cameo years later in Shogun Steel.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Purple eyes and teal hair styled into twin 'ox horns' mark Mei-Mei out, and she stands smaller than those around her. Her red cheongsam carries yellow trim and pink heart-shaped buttons fastened in yellow, worn over navy blue leggings, along with white fingerless gloves, a white belt dotted with small yellow buttons, a green armband on her left arm, and reddish-brown boots over white socks. Seven years on, in her cameo near the end of Shogun Steel, her hair is worn in a ponytail and her wardrobe is pared down to a plainer red cheongsam.

A certain clumsiness follows Mei-Mei around, most often in the form of mixed-up words that Chaoxin is quick to call out — in her first appearance she even garbles Chiyun's challenge to Gingka in the retelling. That awkwardness doesn't stop her stepping up for others, though: she once confronted a gang of thieves who had stolen Beyblades from local children.

Brave enough to take on three thieves alone and win, but in championship tag matches her Aquario is usually the first Beyblade knocked out.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • Mei-Mei and Chaoxin are the only named anime characters to use Metal System Beyblades besides generic extras
  • Her video-game Beyblades (Clay/Storm Aquario) exist because Metal System Wheels weren't included in that game
  • Does not appear in the main Metal Fight Beyblade manga, only a cameo in its Soul Burst spin-off
