Biography

King is a proud, boastful young Blader from Greece who was banned from Beyblading in his hometown for being unbeatably strong until he discovered the ancient Beyblade Variares D:D glowing among ruined temple rubble. He travels to America for the Destroyer Dome Tournament, where his flashy rivalry with fellow braggart Masamune Kadoya turns into genuine friendship after an epic battle reveals both are Legendary Bladers. King fights through the tournament, defeating Jigsaw and Tsubasa Otori with his special move King of Thunder Sword before ultimately losing the final to Masamune. He continues adventuring alongside Masamune's group through the rest of Metal Fury, including the fight against Nemesis.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Of Greek descent, King has a compact, slim frame that is nonetheless heavily muscled, with dark skin and spiky dark blue hair left deliberately unkempt. His eyebrows and eyes share that same blue shade. When his Legend Aura builds, or when he calls on a signature move, his hair bleaches white and stands on end. His outfit centres on a sleeveless dark red top paired with fingerless black gloves, and he cinches a silver belt around his waist, its buckle a yellow-gold sphere, with what looks like a holster attached. Below that he wears dark shorts trimmed in white, open-toed sandals, and a blue necklace hung with a small charm.

Competition brings out King's playful side, and like Masamune he channels his enthusiasm for Beyblade into constant chatter and boasting whenever a strong opponent is in front of him. He is fond of puns on his own name, half-joking that everything about him deserves the title 'the best'. That bravado sits alongside a genuine love of the fight rather than any real cruelty, and he tends to end up on friendly terms with the people he has just beaten. When the stakes rose high enough, he set his ego aside and joined the effort to stop Nemesis and save the world.

Mode-switching Variares and boundless self-belief carried him past Jigsaw, Tsubasa and Aguma; only Masamune in a final and Ryuga have stopped him.
