Biography
Johnny McGregor, the Gladiator of Glasgow, is the hot-headed Scottish Majestic — the shortest fuse on the team and the most explosive bit-beast, a fire salamander called Salamalyon inherited down a knightly family line. He treats blading as a personal duel rather than a sport, and he is rude, impatient and sarcastic with it. He beats Kai at Robert's estate, a rare enough defeat that Kai demands the Olympia rematch and wins it, and he is reckoned the Majestics' second strongest behind Robert. He is a good tennis and golf player and has lost seven straight games of chess to his own captain. In G-Revolution he returns only as a guest, helping expose the Barthez Battalion's cheating without ever blading the Bladebreakers on screen.
Appearance and personality
What They Look Like, and How They Behave
Spiked dark red hair under a blue bandanna, violet eyes. The original series has him in a pale ripped-sleeve waistcoat over a blue shirt with grey shorts, brown boots and wristbands; G-Revolution swaps to an orange waistcoat with a torn collar, dark brown trousers and dark blue bands. Like all the Majestics he has battle armour — a gladiator's, finned at the shoulders to match Salamalyon, with an axe he launches from and, alone among the team, no helmet.
Rude, impatient and reckless, which is most of what makes him the knight he plays at. He is from Glasgow, a city he had never actually seen, and there is a sarcastic remark ready for everything. In a match he is genuinely dangerous. The Majestics have always prided themselves on working alone, and Johnny takes that furthest: he holds back on Oliver's opinions, has little to say to Enrique beyond beating him at tennis, and gets on with Robert so badly — Robert always has the last word — that he concludes he is better off by himself.

Beyblade (2001)
Majestics
Johnny turns up as Robert's guest at the castle with a reputation — the Gladiator of Glasgow — and a temper to match it, and when Tyson's demand for a rematch against Robert gets refused, Johnny steps in and beats Kai himself, a fight closer than the final score suggests. That defeat is rare enough that Kai forces a second meeting at the Olympia Arena, and this time a tip from Tyson turns the tables and Johnny goes down, evening the Majestics-Bladebreakers series before Robert decides the match with Tyson in the third round. Once Russia turns serious, Johnny falls in with the rest of the Majestics behind Tyson's fight against the Demolition Boys, and by the end of the World Championship he's lining up for his own crack at Tyson.
Beyblade G-Revolution (2003)
Majestics (guest appearance)
Robert brings Johnny along for a G-Revolution cameo rather than a real campaign, the two watching the tag-team round-robin together before turning detective when they catch the Barthez Battalion using illegal attachments and tampered Beyblades. Bringing the evidence to Tyson gets them nowhere; the tournament is too far along to disqualify anyone without restarting the whole World Cup, and no one wants that. Johnny never blades a Bladebreaker on screen this season, settling instead for watching the final from the crowd with Robert, Enrique and Oliver.
