Biography

Jaxon Cross, called Ekusu Kurosu in the Japanese version, is the protagonist of Beyblade X and leader of Team Persona. Raised as an orphan by his mentor Ginro, he masks his identity as "Blader X" after quitting his championship team Pendragon to challenge former teammate Khrome Ryugu. Treating every battle as fun rather than work, he fights primarily with his Sword Dran line, whose blue metal coating chips away as proof of his growing launch power. He remains undefeated through the anime and manga's ongoing run, welcomes new teammates such as Tenka Shiroboshi into Persona, and was long rumored to be the Cross family's tenth secret child before the story later reveals that he is not actually Zero Cross's son.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Average in build for his age, Jaxon has blue, gear-shaped eyes and blue hair streaked with blonde, several bangs falling in the shape of an X. As a seven-year-old he dressed simply, in a black shirt, grey shorts and light grey boots. During his time with Pendragon he added a necklace and brown leggings beneath his shorts. His Blader X gear is far more elaborate: a blue, gear-patterned mask marked with a red X, a long white trench coat with a hoodie and blue lapel flaps, a black turtleneck, blue shorts over brown leggings, and light grey sneakers with blue laces. The manga version prints Persona's emblem on that turtleneck and adds X-marked wristbands.

Jaxon treats every beybattle as fun rather than a job, setting him apart from Pro Bladers who see blading as pure work; he can come across as a little silly and even lazy between matches. Away from battling, he has a fondness for sushi, particularly the inventive dishes Taisho creates at Komaba Sushi, with the Red Bean and Cream roll standing as his favourite.

Undefeated through two seasons with a launch strong enough to chip Dran's coating, he sweeps Khrome repeatedly and treats every battle as play.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • The Korean site briefly listed his age as 13 before removing it, though the figure remains visible in the underlying source code.
  • His Japanese name 'Ekusu Kurosu' puns on 'X' and 'Cross'; as Roman numeral X=10, this ties him to being both the tenth main protagonist of the franchise and the once-rumored tenth secret child of the Cross family.
  • Series creator Takafumi Adachi has named Jaxon his favorite Beyblade X character.
  • Joins Tyson Granger and Dante Koryu as only the third Beyblade protagonist to pilot a dragon-motif Bey.
  • Settei materials list his height as 155cm.
