Biography

Ciel Kaminari is Beyblade X's undefeated "King of Amateurs," scouted by Khrome Ryugu to replace Jaxon Cross as Team Pendragon's masked Blader Z. Idolizing Khrome to the point of erasing his own identity, Ciel battles through crushing losses—especially to Robin Kazami—and jealousy before growing past his hero-worship. He starts with the defensive Obsidian Shell, then wields the Packun-gifted Shelter Drake in multiple Paradigm variants, and eventually removes his mask to pursue Beyblading on his own terms while still hoping to surpass Khrome.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Spiky orange hair frames green eyes marked with yellow lightning-bolt patterns, and two of his bangs are cut into the same lightning-bolt shape. He wears a lime-green headband and a gray, elbow-sleeved shirt with an orange stripe running down from the shoulder, a shoulder pack slung over it, black trousers patterned like a turtle shell with an orange side stripe, and gray sneakers laced in yellow with gray-and-yellow soles. As the masked Blader Z he instead wears a gray mask with a horn jutting from its right side and a black, gear-patterned lens stamped with an orange "Z," built with a voice filter and a phone line back to Khrome.

Before adopting the Blader Z persona he'd already gone unbeaten through the amateur ranks, and that record fed a confident, at times arrogant streak once he joined Team Pendragon under Khrome Ryugu, whom he idolises to the point of willingly submerging his own identity into his mentor's. A heavy defeat, compounded by Khrome's demanding expectations, tips him into jealousy and a genuine depressive slump once Khrome is no longer around. Battles and advice from teammates gradually pull him out of it, and he emerges more self-aware, chasing the goal of surpassing Khrome on his own terms rather than simply copying him. The arc carries him from cocky talent through troubled devotion to a hard-won independence, and he stands as one of the series' clearer studies in the weight of other people's expectations.

Claims We Could Not Check

  • His English dub name means "sky" in French.
  • Owns Beyblades homaging both Draciel (Obsidian Shell) and Dragoon (Shelter Drake), a first for two motifs on one character.
  • The manga's Chapter 15 cover shows him using a Winder Launcher, likely an art error.
  • Considered a direct foil to Robin Kazami in wins/losses and mentor relationships.
