About This Part
Defense Ring is the heaviest and most compact Customize Weight Disk in the Hard Metal System lineup, a fixed 17-gram piece that debuted with the release of Sea Dragon. Rather than free-spinning, it stays locked in place and simply piles weight onto whatever build it joins, which lifts control, spin velocity and defensive strength together.
In Play
The piece became a popular choice for heavy Upper Attack builds and for straight Defense combinations alike, since the added weight boosts both spin and control; notably, the Takara Tomy release of Sea Dragon that carries it comes from HMS Random Booster Act 2, which ships with a 17-gram metal piece rather than the usual 15-gram version, and that 2-gram gap adds a meaningful amount of heft to any Beyblade using it.
