About This Part
The Chip Protector is a clear plastic shield that sat over a Bit Chip, shielding both the chip and its sticker from wear while also keeping the chip seated in place. Takara's name for the piece was "Chip Protector"; Hasbro's paperwork just called it a clear cover. It shipped on the earliest toys in the line, paired with the original short-tabbed Bit Chip mold.
In Play
- Shipped on the first Beyblades released in the toyline, worn alongside the short-tabbed Bit Chip mold.
- Dropped from later production once Bit Chip tabs were lengthened, a running change that made the cover unnecessary.
