About This Part

Steel Samurai, known in Japan as SamuraiSteel, is a Blade Hasbro released for the Basic Line system, debuting in western countries in a Booster Pack as Steel Samurai 4-80T. Takara Tomy later issued it in Japan on May 15th, 2025 as SamuraiSteel through a mail order Booster in the SamuraiSteel 5-70GF build. It is a five-sided Balance Type Blade shaped like a pentagon, with each side formed by a katana blade flanked by two smaller protrusions, and its Gear Chip depicts a samurai wearing a kabuto helmet. Its plastic pieces match Claw Leon (LeonClaw) and The Mandalorian, but its bumpier, more protruding sword edges give it greater Smash Attack than either.

In Play

Its Attack capabilities exceed those of Claw Leon and The Mandalorian, but it remains too light to compete with heavier Blades such as PhoenixWing, and the community does not recommend it for the WBO's X format.

  • Released in western countries by Hasbro in a Booster Pack as Steel Samurai 4-80T.
  • Issued in Japan by Takara Tomy on May 15th, 2025 as SamuraiSteel 5-70GF through a mail order Booster.
  • A reinforced second mold, roughly a gram heavier, shipped with the Japanese release and later Hasbro reprints, making it the second retool after Optimus Primal to outweigh the Blade it was based on.
