About This Part

Spider-Man is a Blade Hasbro released for the Basic Line system, debuting in western countries in the Spider-Man and Venom Multipack Set before Takara Tomy issued the same set in Japan on April 26th, 2025. It is a Stamina Type Blade with a six-sided outline forming its main contact points, built as a retool of Tail Viper (ViperTail) that reuses the same plastic pieces with a reworked metal component; its surface texture shifts to a web motif and its red and blue plastic colours echo Spider-Man's modern comic suit. Like Tail Viper, it angles its contact points downward to strike from above and unsettle an opponent, though in practice its shape lacks enough aggression and its weight runs too low to land a solid hit. A second release from the Spider-Man and Hulk Multipack Set generally weighs more than the first, and the original release itself exists in an uncoated 2023 version and a 2024 version finished with the clear coat varnish that later became standard.

In Play

In practice its downward-sloped contact points fail to hit hard enough and its light weight limits how much force it can transfer, leaving it behind heavier Stamina Type options.

  • Released in western countries by Hasbro in the Spider-Man and Venom Multipack Set.
  • Issued in Japan by Takara Tomy on April 26th, 2025 in the same set.
  • Reissued, generally heavier, in the Spider-Man and Hulk Multipack Set with a Marvel Cinematic Universe Gear Chip design.
  • The first Gear Chip design draws on a generic comic-inspired Spider-Man look, while the second matches the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film suit, which opened the same day as the set carrying that Blade.
