About This Part

ScorpioSpear is a Balance Type Blade Takara Tomy released for the Unique Line, debuting in Japan on April 26th, 2025 through the UX-14 Starter before reaching the west as Spear Scorpio via Hasbro. It combines three metal contact points with three plastic sub-layer points beneath them, and its Gear Chip depicts a scorpion. As a Unique Line part it uses resin Launcher Hooks for extra outward weight, and its gimmick lets an Xtreme Dash spin a hidden sub-layer: at rest that sub-layer fills the gaps between the metal points for a rounder, six-sided Defense-leaning shape, then after a Dash it settles into a more aggressive three-sided Attack-leaning shape for a heavier hit. At launch it was the heaviest Blade yet at an average of 39.6 grams, beating the previous record-holders PhoenixWing and ImpactDrake, and its shape and weight made it an instant staple that shook up the metagame the way SilverWolf had six months earlier.

In Play

The community mainly runs ScorpioSpear in Stamina and Balance combinations built around destabilizing an opponent, most often with Stamina tips like Ball or Free Ball and Hexa, or with Attack tips such as Rush or Point for Balance-style anti-Attack builds. Its transformation must be reset by hand after every battle, since there is no way to launch it while already in its transformed Attack shape.

  • Released in Japan on April 26th, 2025 with the UX-14 Starter, ScorpioSpear 0-70Z.
