About This Part

PhoenixWing, sold in the west as Soar Phoenix, is a three-sided Attack Type Blade Takara Tomy released for the Basic Line, debuting in Japan on December 10th, 2023 through the BX-23 Starter and reaching western shelves via Hasbro's Soar Phoenix Deluxe String Launcher Set. Its three blades tilt upward for Upper Attack, and unusual protruding Launcher Hooks stick past the Blade's edge to add extra striking points beyond the two smaller bumps on each wing. At release, it tied CobaltDrake as the heaviest Blade on the market at roughly 38.0 grams, a mark that stood until AeroPegasus surpassed it seven months later; a reinforced mould introduced from October 2024 onward pushed its average weight to 39.0 grams, briefly making it the heaviest Blade again before ImpactDrake copies matched or beat it a month afterward.

In Play

With its heavy build and aggressive shape, the community treats PhoenixWing as a highly flexible Blade: on flat tips such as Low Flat or Rush it forms a strong Attack setup, while Ball or Needle tips turn it toward Balance play, and it has seen heavy tournament use alongside the Rush Bit in B4 and WBO events.
