About This Part
Accel, shortened to A, is a Bit Takara Tomy issued under the Unique Line system, first appearing in Japan on March 30th, 2024 inside the UX-01 Starter, DranBuster 1-60A. Hasbro later brought it to western shelves through the Buster Dran 1-60A Starter Pack. Its flat tip carries a shallow round dip in the centre, echoing the earlier Flat bit, and that shape encourages the wobbly motion needed to catch the Xtreme Line rail and set off an Xtreme Dash. Where the Rush bit chased quicker, more frequent dashes by cutting its gear count, Accel does the reverse, running 16 teeth instead of the usual 12 so a dash hits harder speed, at the price of extra Stamina burned.
In Play
Competitive Attack builds favour Accel when a faster Xtreme Dash matters more than holding Stamina, since the added gear count trades endurance for burst speed.
- Debuted in Japan on March 30th, 2024 with UX-01 DranBuster 1-60A
- Reached western markets through Hasbro's Buster Dran 1-60A Starter Pack
The Competitive View
As a standard flat tip it drives aggressive movement around the stadium and attacks opposing Beys; uncontrolled, it catches the Tornado Ridge and circles rapidly before drifting toward center as spin slows, while a Sliding Shoot launch can maintain a flower pattern crossing the center repeatedly at high spin velocity. Xtreme's release made it largely obsolete for pure Attack -- Accel has more stamina and is easier to control fresh out of the box, but less speed and power than Xtreme or Assault. Its remaining competitive niches: Mobile Defense hybrids (e.g., Wyvern Heavy Accel), where its mobility and lower stadium friction let a Defense type dodge an Attack type's flower pattern and bounce off hits rather than absorb them, reducing Burst Finishes; and Staller builds (e.g., Deathscyther Spread/Ring Accel), where its low friction and best-in-class stamina among aggressive drivers help it avoid contact.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Outclassed by Xtreme for pure Attack, but still considered essential for competitive players via Mobile Defense and Staller uses.
