About This Part

Takara released Sparkling Attacker in Japan in June 2000 as part of the original Spin Gear System, though it did not reach international shelves until 2004 alongside the Beyblade: G-Revolution broadcast. Its Spark Attack Attack Ring carried a flint-and-sandpaper spark gimmick on the Japanese version, paired with a Wide Weight Disk and a Flat Blade Base for an Attack Type build. Hasbro dropped the sparking function from its own release over safety concerns.

In Play

  • Released in Japan in June 2000.
  • Reached international markets in 2004 alongside the Beyblade: G-Revolution anime.
  • A former Hasbro employee said the spark gimmick was cut from the Hasbro release after a manager objected to pairing a sparking top with the idea of a child near flammable liquid, a concern he considered overcautious.
