About This Part
Metal Ape is an Attack Ring from the Hard Metal System, first released with Magical Ape MS and weighing 20 grams. Its metal frame runs almost the full way around the ring's circular perimeter, with only a sliver of the ABS caul showing past it, making Metal Ape the smallest ring ever produced for the HMS line. That small size and centred mass give it an unusually high spin velocity, and six protrusions along with the caul's exposed edges add a modest Smash Attack element on top of that speed.
In Play
Competitive builders treat it as one of the best choices for Compact customizations, since the high spin velocity alone can overpower lightweight Endurance-focused rivals; it trails Jiraiya Blade and Metal Spring in raw attacking power, but stays more compact than the former and avoids the recoil that plagues the latter, and pairing it with a CWD Defense Ring and a Metal Change Core lets a builder choose between a stationary or mobile attack pattern.
