Parts in detail
Dark Grey colorway in the Dark Series subline, from Random Booster 8. Shares Attack Ring, Spin Gear, Support Part, and Blade Base tooling with the rest of the Dark Series, but is the only sibling to use Ten Balance rather than Ten Wide or Ten Heavy as its Weight Disk.
| Slot | Part | Weight | Spin | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attack Ring | Dark Wing (Core AR) | 4.9 (6.4 total with Sub AR) g | Right (Left Spin not viable) | Thick, slightly over-angled contact points give Dark Wing strong hitting power but heavy rotational recoil even by Hyper Aggro standards, so it leans on a Heavy Metal Core against sturdier opponents and still tires faster than the very best Smash options. It does get a small edge against Circle Survivor Defense thanks to how high its contact points sit, though shorter opponents give it more trouble. |
| Sub Attack Ring | Dark Wing Sub AR | 1.5 g | One of only two three-sided Sub Attack Rings ever made (Ark Pyramid Sub AR is the other). Its main use outside its own Attack Ring is on three-sided setups riding SG Wing Base, but that combination is outclassed by the Blade Base's own poor LAD, and Ark Pyramid Sub AR is usually the better three-sided choice there anyway. | |
| Weight Disk | Ten Balance | 15.0 g | A well-rounded, moderately heavy Weight Disk with a compact-but-edge-leaning mass distribution that balances RPM retention/grinding with survival. | |
| Spin Gear | Neo Right Spin Gear Shells | 1.15 ea (2.3 total) g | Right | Neo-pattern shells are favored over regular Right shells because they fit every Spin-Gear-compatible Blade Base and unlock Neo-only cores, including the Heavy Metal Core — a must for Compacts, Weight Based Defense, Force Smash, Traditional Upper Attack, and Driger V2 builds. |
| Spin Gear | Metal Weight Core | 2.5 g | Packs a small metal cylinder for added mass but weighs a touch less than a Magnecore, so it rarely stands out as the clear best choice for Attack builds — though the weight gap to its alternatives is small enough that it's rarely a bad one either. | |
| Support Part | Survivor Ring | 2.9 g | Both (behaves differently by direction) | A round single-piece Support Part whose three small fins add mild attack in Right Spin without the heavy recoil that ruins most aggressive Support Parts, while behaving more defensively when spun Left; its extra rim mass also boosts flywheel effect. It pairs especially well with three-sided Attack Rings like Triple Tiger, where the fins' contact points line up cleanly. |
| Blade Base | Customize Sharp Base | 5.8 g | A tall, sharp-tipped, Support-Part-compatible Base whose edge-focused weight gaps echo Metal Sting Base but don't meaningfully help it; the base is simply too unstable to hold up in play. |
Weights are single copies weighed on their own; a part can vary by a few tenths of a gram.
In play and in the story
Dark Wing's three wings hit hard but their odd count works against smooth pairing with a free-spinning secondary ring, most of which carry an even number of points, so the combination tends toward instability; Customize Sharp adds height without adding stability, making the top more apt to lose its balance.
