Why they are worth collecting

They are the one piece of paper that came with every Western Beyblade of the Metal years, and almost nobody kept them. The code was the point, and once it was typed in the card went in the bin. That makes a clean, complete run of any line hard to put together, even though no single card was ever rare. There is no grading history and no price guide. The cards change hands in mixed lots, often for a few dollars.

What to look for

  • Folded or flat. The Metal Fusion character cards, the Legend gold cards and the grey Metal Masters cards fold open, and a complete one still opens to its parts diagram. Check the folds and the inside panel, which is where the part number is printed.
  • The back. Every back carries the code and a Hasbro part number of its own. On the grey Metal Masters cards the code sits under a flap, and a flap never lifted is the nearest thing this set has to a sealed card.
  • The product number. Every card after the first Metal Fusion ones prints it on the front, with a letter where the same Bey had more than one release. SS-20 and SS-20A Bandit Golem are two different cards.
  • Size. The flat cards are about 47 × 64 mm, so standard trading-card sleeves are loose on them. Small-card sleeves fit.

Variants and misprints

Hasbro printed one card per Bey. But reissues, sets and regional prints mean the same Bey can have several cards. These are the ones known to differ on the front:

What is not real

Fan-made cards in Hasbro’s layout circulate, and some of them are very good. A set posted online in 2026 as “all the Metal Fusion cards” was drawn from scratch by its maker. Two tells give them away: a card for a character who never had a Bey of their own, such as Madoka, and a card for a Bey never sold in the West. If a card is not on the checklist, ask where it came from before paying for it. If it turns out to be real, the checklist is missing it.

What a used code means

Nothing now. The site closed on 10 September 2015 and no code can be redeemed anywhere, so a used card is worth the same as an untouched one, condition apart.
