Hasbro built this small line as a Toys "R" Us exclusive in Canada and the United States, pairing existing Metal Masters tops with new packaging for 2011. Two individual Beyblades and one boxed battle set carried the branding, and Hasbro reused the same "Sonic Series" name on unrelated toylines such as its Nerf blasters.
