Beyblade Fighting Tournament

Beyblade Fighting Tournament, released in Japan on August 11, 2000, was the second Beyblade video game and the middle entry of the eventual three-game Game Boy Color line. Players fight through location-based tournaments as one of four base archetypes -- Dragoon, Draciel, Dranzer, or Driger -- unlocked via magazine codes, buying stronger 'Kid,' 'Knight,' and 'Nightmare' series bits from a shop as the main strategic lever in an otherwise luck-driven launch-and-watch battle system.

What to know

  • Second of three Beyblade games on the Game Boy Color, sitting between Jisedai Begoma Battle Beyblade and Bakuten Shoot Beyblade.
  • Archetype-unlock codes: 5656 (Dragoon, default), 4622 (Driger), 1137 (Draciel), 9520 (Dranzer).

  • Max, Rei, Kai, and Tyson serve as the final champions of their respective tournaments, with Jin as an additional challenger.
  • The bit code 'GER4' printed on real-world Spin Gear Beyblades let players unlock the corresponding bit in-game.
