Biography

Zero Cross, called Zero Kurosu in the Japanese version, heads Cross Corporation and drives the central conflict of Beyblade X Season 3 as its antagonist. Father to all nine known Cross siblings plus a rumored tenth child, he uses predictive technology to plan the destruction and "rebirth" of Xenon City and the pro blading scene, showing little warmth toward his children and treating them as pawns for his ambitions. He fights with Courage Drake G, taking an early lead against Robin Kazami in their climactic clash before Robin turns the match around and brings his scheme to an end.

Personality

How They Behave

Zero carries himself as laid-back yet larger than life, the sort of figure who introduces himself to Xenon City by way of a giant hologram and hums to himself when no one else is around — Robin sums him up as Jaxon all grown up. As a father he falls badly short: he keeps his distance from his children, which leaves some of them, Five especially, chasing after his approval, and he does nothing to stop them from tearing each other down. He manipulates that same hunger for approval to push his children harder, then casts them aside as pawns once they stop being useful to him.

Plans battles through prediction and sweeps Robin three-nil on the page before losing the rematch; he treats his children and Beyblades alike as tools.

  • Courage Drake is a nod to Tyson Granger's Dragoon, the classic-series Bey.
  • The third Beyblade X character to use a Drake-motif bey originated by Khrome Ryugu's Cobalt Drake.
  • Counts as the franchise's fifth dragon-motif antagonist, following in the footsteps of Lui Shirosagi, Khrome Ryugu, Gwyn Reynolds and Ryuga.
  • The only Kurosu All-Stars member without a Beyblade motif referencing Beyblade Burst.
  • The eighth character in the series to use a metal-coated Beyblade.
  • Continues the franchise's recurring corporate-executive-villain archetype.
