Biography

Ukio Kibuki, known as Ukyo Ibuki in Japan, is a cool, soft-spoken member of the Sword Flames team at the Shakadera Dojo, nicknamed the 'Shadow-Walker' for his knack of hiding in plain sight before striking. He battles with Über Unicrest Down Needle, values ritual respect for a blader's launching hand, and often serves as the team's voice of reason, calming teammate Yugo after Daigo's admitted cheating. Confident and needling in battle, he nonetheless earns mutual respect from rival Daigo Kurogami and stays close to dojo friends Xander Shakadera and Quon Limon.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Ukio is tall, with light-blue hair worn in a long ponytail and eyes somewhere between green and blue. He layers a long indigo hoodie trimmed in violet, its sleeves carrying the same accent colour, over a light-lavender t-shirt, along with deep-blue fingerless gauntlets and black sweatpants striped in grey down the sides. His shoes are tall red trainers with a white stripe running down the middle and white straps, and he wears two pink earrings in his right ear.

Much like his teammates Daigo and Shu, Ukio keeps a cool, unruffled temperament, generally soft-spoken and polite with both friends and rivals, though he isn't above goading an opponent mid-battle just to throw them off. Paired with his bey, Über Unicrest, he fights with real confidence, chipping away at a rival's focus through logical argument until they start doubting themselves. He treats a Blader's hand as something close to sacred and once turned down a handshake from Valt over it, though he later shook hands with Daigo after their own battle. He also has a knack for melting into the background and reappearing when least expected, earning him the nickname "Shadow-Walker." Within his team he tends to be the steadying voice, talking Yugo down after Daigo's cheating came to light rather than letting things turn ugly.
