Biography

Suoh Genji is a former Beigoma Academy BeyClub ace in Beyblade Burst Turbo, introduced as calm and soft-spoken but revealed to have a fierce, prideful side once he trades his generic Beys for the self-made Heat Salamander. Driven to defeat childhood rival Lui Shirosagi and dethrone World Champion Valt Aoi, his pride both fuels his wins and repeatedly costs him, especially in his fraught rivalry with former friend Fubuki Sumiye, whom he refuses to forgive for surpassing him until the two reconcile late in the season.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Suoh has pale skin, yellow eyes and white hair that falls over his right eye, and he keeps his eyes closed for most of his appearances. His coat is black and red with a yellow fur trim, worn over a white suit and finished with a lime-green and purple tie. A black-and-yellow gauntlet covers his right arm, and he pairs dark trousers and a matching belt with black boots. When his bangs shift aside, they reveal a dark magenta zigzag mark on his right cheek, and when his more aggressive side surfaces his voice drops to a deeper, throatier register.

Day to day, Suoh comes across as quiet and courteous, but gaining Heat Salamander draws out a sharper, more arrogant streak, pulling him from a collected manner toward something more ruthless, even as he grows more willing to speak honestly about what he feels. Pride is his defining weakness: it carries him through plenty of wins but also trips him up, most clearly when he refuses to accept that Fubuki has surpassed him. Away from battle, he's skilled at flower arranging and tends to slip floral imagery into the way he talks.
