Biography
Norman Tarver is a Snake Pit blader who secretly spies on Valt's crew as the masked 'Gold Eye' before revealing himself at the International Blader's Cup. Calm, analytical, and quietly resentful, he studies opponents' strategies and harbors jealousy toward Shu Kurenai for taking over his ranking within the Pit. He wins several early Cup matches before losing to Valt and then Shu, who ultimately destroys his Beyblade, Twin Noctemis, ending his run in the tournament.
Appearance and personality
What They Look Like, and How They Behave
Dark bags sit under Norman's eyes, above sea green hair pulled into a short ponytail with one strand left loose over his face; he's usually pictured with a scowl. His outfit is a dark blue trench coat trimmed in reddish-pink, worn over a bright yellow turtleneck, with black gloves, trousers and boots completing it. As his alter ego Gold Eye, he switches to a black, horned mask fitted with extra gold horns and gold lenses, paired with a black uniform in gold accents and a matching, mostly sleeveless black tailcoat edged in gold; his skin also reads less pale in this identity than it does at the International Blader's Cup.
Norman generally stays calm and doesn't run hot, coming across as quieter and more serious than many of the other tournament entrants. Like the rest of the Snake Pit Bladers he's driven to be the best, which shows in an arrogant, taunting streak and a habit of underrating opponents, as when he dismisses Valtryek's upgrade. Winning fills him with visible pride, often expressed by looking to Theodore for approval afterward. He's methodical too, studying rivals' strategies ahead of a match, and sharp enough to keep his own game plan from Clio Delon. Watching every battle alongside Theodore underlines his loyalty to the man. Resentment simmers under the surface as well, particularly toward Red Eye for taking the high rank he once held in the Snake Pit, which pushes him to study that Blader's tactics closely in hopes of winning the position back.
