Biography

Nika Aoi is Valt Aoi's younger sister and Toko Aoi's twin, an optimistic and playful schoolgirl who alongside Toko constantly teases Valt and the rest of the Beigoma Academy BeyClub. She's also caring and emotionally invested, feeling deep guilt after accidentally causing Shu Kurenai's shoulder injury, and openly nurses a crush on him. Confident in her own blading, she battles a handful of times across the anime and manga, growing closer to new transfer student Aiger Akabane as the Turbo era unfolds.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Pink hair and orange eyes mark Nika out as a young schoolgirl, her hair kept in pigtails fastened with two star-shaped bobbles. She wears orange overalls over a soft yellow shirt, ties a red ribbon at her collar, and, like Toko, shows a prominent fang on the left side of her mouth. By the Turbo era she has grown taller and layers a violet dress over a long-sleeved orange shirt with violet cuffs, adding a red ribbon to each sleeve while keeping the collar ribbon and starred pigtails from before; her prominent fang is gone by this point, and her hair reads as more vibrant overall.

Being a child gives Nika an optimistic, playful streak, and she and her twin brother Toko like to needle their older brother Valt and the rest of the Beigoma Academy BeyClub during practice, especially when a session goes badly. That playfulness sits alongside a real capacity for care: after Shu Kurenai injures his shoulder she worries over him and feels responsible, since she was the one who caused it, and she cheers loudly for BeyClub members such as Valt or Shu whenever they're battling. She carries genuine confidence in her own ability as a Blader, though conceding a single point to Akio once brought her to tears; true to her nature, she bounced back and was cheerful again soon after.
