Biography

Julian Konzern, called Julius Caesar in Japan, is the wealthy, arrogant leader of Team Excalibur representing Italy in Beyblade: Metal Masters. Believing victory comes as naturally as breathing, he wields the dual-rotation Gravity Destroyer AD145WD, easily dispatching early opponents before losing to Gingka Hagane in the semifinals. After Hades Inc. strips his family fortune, he briefly allies with Dr. Ziggurat until teammates Sophie and Wales convince him to reject evil, leading to a proud final defeat against Dashan Wang that lets him move on with dignity. He returns in a smaller role in Metal Fury's finale, lending his Beyblade's strength to Gingka against Nemesis.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

A tall Italian teenager, Julian keeps royal blue eyes and blond hair that falls to his shoulders. His skin stays pale despite his heritage, and his build is slim. Across his appearances he wears the same signature red suit jacket, left open over an unbuttoned blue-purple dress shirt, finished with a gold necklace.

Wealth has always cushioned Julian, and it shows in how naturally he expects good outcomes to come his way; even so, he does put in genuine effort toward his goals, which is part of why he ranks among the stronger Bladers. Vanity runs deep in him too — he holds himself as close to flawless, and when that self-image is challenged, as it is when Damian defeats him, the shock sends him into real psychological collapse. Once Dr. Ziggurat strips his fortune away, his first instinct is to blame Beyblade itself for his misfortune, though Dashan, Sophie and Wales talk him around to a different view.
