Biography

Hikaru Hasama debuts in Beyblade: Metal Fusion as a cold, driven blader chasing strong opponents to honor her ailing mother's unfulfilled dream, wielding Wind Aquario 100HF/S. Initially goaded by Benkei into antagonizing Gingka's circle, she softens after losing to Gingka and learning to enjoy Beyblading for its own sake. She qualifies for Battle Bladers but is devastated in her opening match against Ryuga, leaving her traumatized and retired from competition. She becomes Ryo Hagane's WBBA assistant from Metal Masters onward, still occasionally battling when necessary.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Hikaru wears her sky-blue hair in a messy bob, with indigo eyes. Her early look pairs a red jacket over a white chest plate and a dark blue t-shirt slightly torn at the hem, with tan shorts, brown boots, a black choker, and white fingerless gloves reaching to her wrists; a belt crosses over her shorts, and she carries her Beyblade on her right hip. After her loss to Ryuga, she takes up a role as Ryo Hagane's assistant and switches to a dark blue suit: a white shirt with yellow buttons under a dark blue jacket trimmed in white at the sleeves, a matching dark blue skirt, black high heels, and a red ribbon tied around her left wrist.

Hikaru starts out cold and closed-off, a defence built in childhood after losses brought mockery from other bladers and left her in tears; her ill mother, who had once dreamed of becoming a strong blader, urged her to keep going and carry that dream forward. That promise fuels her early hunt for strong opponents, and acting on Benkei's orders she defeats Kenta and shakes his confidence. Her later loss to Gingka, and his simple question about whether she had fun, cracks her hardened exterior and lets warmth and friendship back in. A defeat by Ryuga leaves a deeper scar, severe enough that battling becomes difficult afterward, so she supports the WBBA to help others enjoy the sport without repeating her own history. She softens over time while keeping a professional bearing, becoming a steady counterweight to the scatterbrained, impulsive Ryo.
