Biography

Eight Cross, known as Eight Kurosu in Japan, is one of Zero Cross's nine children in Beyblade X, fighting with Mirage Clock 9-65B. Arrogant and smug about his blading talent, he relies on his Vanishing Time strategy and, like his siblings, is desperate to win his father's approval for fear of being abandoned. He shows Team Persona a glimpse of futuristic Beycrafting, beats Yoko Kyubi once, but is eventually outmaneuvered in their rematch once she learns to counter Mirage Clock. He is also decisively beaten by Jaxon Cross, which shakes his confidence badly.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Orange eyes and blue hair streaked with black highlights mark Eight out, along with a large X-shaped scar running across his face; he's built at an average size for his age. His wardrobe includes a grey shirt patterned with blue flames, a black-and-white checkered scarf with matching wristbands, black trousers dotted in white squares, checkered socks in the same scheme, and pale blue shoes finished with grey soles and orange laces.

Like several of his siblings, Eight carries himself with arrogance and smugness, his exceptional blading talent leading him to look down on other bladers. He shares Three and Four's tendency to lean on one set strategy, a habit that costs him in his rematch against Yoko once she works out how to counter Mirage Clock's weak points. Underneath the swagger, he's chasing his father's approval just as urgently as his siblings, driven by fear that Zero could cast him aside if he keeps losing.

Vanishing Time wins until someone reads it; once Yoko finds the counter and Jaxon sweeps him, the smug confidence behind Mirage Clock collapses with it.
